By the third week, there has been a weird sense of acceptance that this situation is reality. Shinichi no longer has the thought that he may go to sleep and wake up to find that this was all some bizarre nightmare. (It would be ideal if that were to happen, but.) From that sense of acceptance, routine of his own has been formed. A large portion of his time is spent with Kirie Goshima -- the young girl he has to pretend to be the boyfriend of -- and helping her through her own "role" of having to consume alcohol on a regular basis.
The rest of his time is generally spent re-visiting the various shops to see if anything has changed and letting Migi take updated notes. Up until now that's what the alien has been doing, quietly observing and gathering as much information as possible. About the environment, about their companions stuck here with them... Now that it's been a few weeks, his right hand has decided to take further action.
Shinichi's hesitant about "forming alliances", as Migi puts it. For one, it entails revealing themselves to people they barely know. There's no way to tell how someone may react, and they really have no means of defending themselves, with Migi reduced to such a weak state. They've argued about it off and on for the past days, but in the end the alien's logic seeps into his mindset and makes house there, cozying itself up against the human's emotion and fears. It would be beneficial to their survival. And Shinichi can only serve as a mouthpiece for Migi for so long; the alien needs to be able to hold conversations and brainstorm along with others. After all, they have to get out of here eventually, and just sitting here biding time seems fruitless.
Several of the others here are not from this time or place, and among those, Ignis is someone that Migi has declared he wants to try forming said alliance with. The man clearly has an analytical mind, and seems calm and rational -- something Shinichi hopes will help when he reveals to him that his right hand is an alien entity. Ignis is also not from Earth, so maybe he'll be open to the idea... hopefully.. The boy is still nervous as he looks for him, knowing Ignis well enough by now to know that the bookstore is a prime spot for him these days.
And there he is right in one of the aisles, various books about. It reminds Shinichi of his room back home, where Migi spreads out exactly like this -- books everywhere, pages wide open as he does research into the night. This is an oddly comforting image now, some sense of familiarity.
"Ignis, hi...!" The greeting is friendly as usual and comes with a smile, despite the nerves fluttering in his gut as he looks down to the other. "I thought you'd be here."
